Training Department<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Training Department at the Saudi Mining Polytechnic (SMP) undertakes a variety of responsibilities to achieve SMP\u2019s objectives in qualifying, training and preparing Saudi youth to join the labor market in the mining sector at Ma\u2019aden companies and other contracting and similar companies throughout the Kingdom. The responsibilities of the Training Department include developing plans to attract trainees, monitoring admission and registration, screening, developing induction programs, developing curricula, creating training plans, and evaluation according to the needs of companies working in the mining sector. It also assumes the development of curricula, monitoring training, evaluation, attendance, and training hours according to the companies\u2019 requirements. It also applies policies, regulations and procedures at the institute, secures the trainees\u2019 needs of uniforms, transportation, housing, medical insurance, study materials, and meals, and provides academic and behavioral counselling services to trainees to help them progress in the training program. It also provides safety awareness programs for trainees. In addition, it established a traniee council for traniees to share their concerns and ideas with managment, and a public speaking club similar to the Toastmaster Club, using its standards to improve the trainees\u2019 English speaking speaking skills and public speaking. It also formed sports teams and held periodic competitions to ensure applying the concept of “a healthy mind in a healthy body” among trainees. It also holds periodic guest speaker meetings where trainees benefit from the expertise and experiences of other experiences.<\/p>\n
