Director General's Message

The future of mining is shaped not by mineral wealth alone, but by national talent, advanced skills and smart technologies that turn those resources into opportunity and lasting economic value.

Saudi Arabia's mining sector is undergoing a rapid strategic transformation. As a key pillar of economic diversification, it is strengthening local content and creating high-quality jobs in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This transformation makes investment in people, future-ready skills, artificial intelligence and modern technologies more important than ever to improve the sector's efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability.

Against this backdrop, Saudi Mining Polytechnic continues the journey it began in 2012 through a strategic partnership between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Ma'aden. We are committed to developing national capabilities, preparing specialized talent and aligning training outcomes with the evolving needs of employers in mining and related industries.

We believe the future of technical training extends beyond teaching technical skills. It calls for an integrated set of technical, digital, interpersonal and leadership capabilities, combining practical knowledge with analytical thinking, problem-solving, innovation and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing workplaces.

As the mining sector evolves, we place particular emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence, automation, digital transformation and data analytics into our training system. Our aim is to prepare people to work with modern mining technologies, improve productivity and operational efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of safety and sustainability.

We are also expanding our training programs, developing professional and specialized skills, creating reskilling and upskilling pathways, and strengthening strategic partnerships with mining and industrial companies as well as educational and technology institutions. This enables us to respond flexibly to the sector's needs, both now and in the future.

Quality and institutional excellence are at the heart of our work. Building on our full institutional accreditation and guided by our values of safety, mastery and performance excellence, we believe the true measure of training is not only what trainees learn, but how effectively they apply it to make a tangible difference in the workplace.

Our ambition goes beyond preparing people for today's jobs. We seek to build the skills of tomorrow, help organizations keep pace with technological change, and contribute to a smarter, more productive and more competitive Saudi mining sector.

We will continue this journey through effective national and international partnerships and sustained investment in innovation and modern technology. In doing so, we aim to advance the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and establish the Kingdom as a leading center for developing the people who will drive the mining sector forward.

We develop people, strengthen skills and harness technology to shape the future of mining.

Mr. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Otaibi
