The Saudi Technical Institute for Mining was established in 2012 as a partnership between the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training and Ma’aden Company in order to develop cadres of Saudi youth to take over tasks in the mining industry. The Institute focuses its programs on graduating operators with comprehensive experience. A safety exhibition was established at the institute to raise awareness of industrial and personal safety procedures. The institute has obtained several accreditations from international bodies in the field of safety, such as OSHA, the British Safety Council, and the National Safety Council. The institute also obtained full institutional accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.
