Fundamentals of mining technology

Overview 

A short course covering the basics of mining technology including an introduction to mining, mining methods and transportation of raw materials. This course will enable trainees to start working at entry level under the management of mining supervisors.

Course Description

This is a short course that covers the essentials of mining technology, including an introduction to mining, mining methods, material handling, and reclamation after mining. This course will enable the participants to Start work from the junior level under the supervision of a mining technician and refresh THEIR mining knowledge.

Managers, Engineers, Technicians, and all Field Operators

• Identify mining history, definitions, terms, and stages of mine and the value of mining in Saudi Arabia.
• Describe THE general concept of prospecting and exploration – mineral reserve estimation, calculation of life of mine, and production rate.
• explain THE development and exploitation stages of mining, selection and classification of mining methods (surface and underground), and the terms related to the basic layout geometry of underground and surface mines.
